Here is the 1891 fourth edition of Egbert Hooper's Manual of Brewing, first published as a text book for the Technical Brewing Examination of the City and Guilds of London Institute for the Advancement of Technical Education. Despite being created for English brewers, the author and publisher were happy to find that the manual was soon being used throughout Europe, Canada and the U.S., leading to the release of several revised editions. It is a fundamental guide to brewing chemistry as practiced during the late 1800s, and became a fundamental textbook for brewers everywhere. Includes illustrations, tables, index, and many fantastic old advertisements for brewing materials and equipment.
